The 2014/15 winter season is going to be a long one. Despite spring weather in most of Europe skiing remains good in the Alps and even more snow is on the way. Only this week there was a huge dump across the board with more than 1 metre snowfall in places. The next couple of weeks are going to offer good skiing not only at glacier ski areas but in lower parts of the Alps, too. Let’s have a look at some deals for late season skiing.
Zillertal, Austria
The entire holiday region of Zillertal is among Europe’s best skiing destinations. All ski areas of Zillertal, including the Hintertux Glacier, Mayrhofen/Penken, the Zillertal Arena and the SKi-optimal ski resort are open with more than 400 km of ski runs available. The ski season in Zillertal ends on April 18th (except from the glacier ski area Hintertux) and there should be no problem getting decent skiing before that date. Have a look at our Zillertal accommodation page.
Val di Fiemme, Italy
Here’s another excellent skiing destination for late March / early April skiing. Not as popular as the nearby Fassa Valley or the Val Gardena ski resort, Val di Fiemme is worth a visit. More then 80 km of well groomed ski runs, most of them well over 2000 metres above sea level guarantee good skiing. If you take a look at prices you will find the area a very good value-for-money ski resort. We have a wide selection of apartments and hotels in Val di Fiemme available at very good prices.
Val Senales / Maso Corto, Italy
Italian glacier ski resort with all ski runs and the village itself located above 2000 metres above sea level. Skiing here is good well into spring with 2014/15 season ending on May 3rd. 35 kilometres of runs are mostly intermediate and difficult with only 7 km of easy slopes. If you haven’t had enough of skiing this season, Schnalstal offers night skiing, too. There are not too many accommodation options in Val Senales / Maso Corto / Schnalstal but we have you covered.
Val di Fassa, Italy
I personally think of Val di Fassa as one of the best places to spend your Italy ski holiday no matter whether start, middle or end of the season. This destination has everything you need on your ski vacation: loads of ski runs at every difficulty level, beautiful views onto surrounding Dolomites, access to Italy’s highest peak – Marmolada, and lift connection to some of the best skiing areas across the Alps: Val Gardena and Arabba All that comes at very competitive prices making it extremely popular among our customers throughout Europe. I recommend seeing booking one of nearly a hundred Val di Fassa apartments with us. Val di Fassa closes on April 12th, 2015.
Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschoenau, Austria
One of Austria’s newest lift-connected ski resort created by a new connection of Alpbachtal and Niederau-Willschoenau ski area. Over 100 km of ski runs going up to 2025 metres above sea level make it an excellent family destination. The season ends on April 12th and good conditions are now guaranteed until the last day of operation. If you are looking for a slow holiday with skiing in the morning and some relax in the afternoon, this may be a great choice.
